More on the Paris Peace Conference
ISRAEL – “PALESTINE”: Today the Paris Peace Conference on the relations between Israelis and the Palestinian Arabs is over.
An editorial in Jerusalem Post this morning fears “No tango in Paris” and gives the reasons why, namely that “President Barack Obama – with just 6 days left in office – will use the summit to drive a final nail in the coffin of the so-called peace process.” Israel’s President Netanyahu says “It’s a rigged conference, rigged by the Palestinians with French auspices to adopt additional anti-Israel stances. This pushes peace backward.”
The Algemeiner has published a few interestingarticles on the Paris Peace Conference. One deals with “Why the Palestinian Issue Won’t Disappear”. Another one claims the Conference “Marks End to Obama’s failed Mideast diplomacy”. A third article is about the French President’s remark that the Two-State Solution would be threatened by Israeli settlements. Read more here.
The British newspaper The Guardian says the “Paris Conference send Trump a warning over Israel and Palestinians”. The Conference is categorically in favour of a Two State Solution as the only way to peace, whereas Donald Trump, the US President-elect, has a more open view on the matter.
Some results from the conference are beginning to be presented in the media. Interesting days ahead, it seems, especially as the Two State Solution would make Israel impossible to defend. A member of Israel’s government has said he doesn’t want to see “another terror state within Israel”. Should the Two State solution be implemented, the Israeli Jews would have to face the obvious risk of a second Holocaust.
