Israel and the resignation of Sweden’s leftist government

Yesterday Sweden’s red-green minority government declared its intention to resign by the end of this year as the parliament decided to go for the opposition’s budget in stead of theirs.

It was Sweden Democrats (SD) who tipped the scale, a party that has been accused of xenophobia and even racism for trying to officially discuss Sweden’s large scale immigration policy and the consequences on society as a whole that goes with it. This is a banned subject in the politically correct Sweden, which TV, radio and all other mainstream media, institutions and NGO’s adhere to. Sweden is nowadays like a sort of revived DDR-Light with a clear Islamic flavour.

Sweden’s leftist goverment was short-lived, formed only two months ago. And on that very day, the 3rd October, the Prime Minister Stefan Löfvén and his Minister of Foreign Affairs, Margot Wallström, declared their government’s intention to acknowledge “Palestine” as a sovereign state, thereby trying – as they claimed – to force Israel to the negotiation table with the Fatah-Hamas ruled Islamic Palestinian Authority (PA). Obviously PM Löfvén didn’t care about facts, as Israel has always been positive to peace negotiations whereas the Palestinians over and over again have not.

Moreover, the Swedish decision was badly timed, the opposition claimed. It was officially proclaimed when Israel celebrated the Jewish New Year and Sukkot, the holiest fiest in Judaism. Of course the official protests from Israel didn’t wait, as it was regarded as an act of hostility to Israel and its population with an overwhelming Jewish majority. It was only a few months after the war this summer, when Israel again was forced to defend its population from the Hamas missiles and other forms of terrorism from Gaza.

So far the Social Democrats and the Green Party had managed to keep back their anti-semitic values fairly well. And they cannot deny that they have such values among leading party members with even a Minister who is said to be a high-ranking member of the Muslim Brotherhood. One cannot avoid the impression though, that after eight years in opposition the temptation became too strong to make an impression on the growing Muslim population in Sweden now that the leftists at last were back in power. That could have been the very reason, some political analysts think, why the PM and his leftist government chose to acknowledge “Palestine”, the “country” without land. And of course to give Israel and the Jews an unjust kick and hence get storms of applause from the many Muslim new-Swedes.

But the Swedish PM and his team misjudged reality and now they are forced to leave the scene. A new election is declared to take place on the 22nd March 2015. Incidently that day almost exacly coincides with a solar eclipse (20th March). So far on the recent political scenery in Sweden.

As current politics in Sweden and the EU are hardly ever related to Biblical points of view I hereby grab the opportunity to do so here. Already in Genesis (12:2-3) the Lord gives the following promises to the Jewish people: “And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.” (American King James Version). The conclusion must then be, that if the Swedish government had blessed Israel in stead of doing what it did things would have gone a lot better. Socialists, however, usually don’t seem to like such viewpoints.

Moreover, there are also other Bible prophecies that no doubt refer to Israel of our time, such as the one in Zechariah 12:3, where it is said (in King James Bible “Authorized Version”, Cambridge Edition): “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” Not only Sweden has recently gathered against Jerusalem. Britain followed a few days later, then Ireland, Spain and now France. The tendency is clear. But so is also the Bible. Those who wish to divide Jerusalem and the Holy Land and give it to the gentiles will not be unpunished: “And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem” (Zechariah 12:9). Time is running out and it will soon be too late, I’m afraid, for Sweden and the other EU-countries to scrap their hostile policy against the Jewish land of Israel and their holy capital Jerusalem.

The EU should bless Israel, not curse it. But with its current leadership with Federica Mogherini, a communist and admirer of Yassir Arafat as chief of foreign affairs, this is something we cannot hope for. As new on the job she has already called for a “Palestinian state” and a dividing of Jerusalem, the Lord’s Holy city.
